Carol's Journey
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Going to Heaven
If I am faithful to go to church
That is the answer to my search
No, that is not the way

I was baptized when I was very small
For that is what Jesus did after all
No, that is not the way

Obey the Ten Commandments in His holy book
God will be pleased and I will be off the hook
No, that is not the way

If I read the Bible from cover to cover
That will be enough for me to cross over
No, that is not the way

Helping my neighbor who has many needs
I will show them love by my good deeds
No, that is not the way

If I give all my money to feed the poor
God will honor that and let me in the door
No, that is not the way

God has always been very close to me
Everyone will go to heaven, you see
No, that is not the way

I believe Jesus died to save me from my sin
I confess my sin and invite Him to come in
Yes, that is the only way

It is not about what you could ever DO
But what Jesus has already DONE for you
By faith, let Jesus come into your heart
He will give your life a brand new start

John 1:12 (NASB)
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to
become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
