The Grim Reaper had the final say
In his grip Houdini was forced to stay
After years of death-defying stunts
The magnificent magician had to confront
The master-lock which holds us all
At death's last final curtain call
Houdini refused all medical attention
Until too late he was rushed for an operation
His appendix was in a bad state of destruction
The magician's act had sadly come to completion
He bid farewell to the world on Halloween night
With resignation as darkness overcame the light
But his life is celebrated by everyone
As the greatest magician under the sun
