 In the Doghouse
(This is a classic of mine that I thought I would post again)

In The Doghouse

Boy I did it again and I mean big time
What was so innocent became a huge crime
I didn't mean to do it; it just so happened to be
I was in the right place; at least it seemed to me

It started out just fine; excited for the show
We got in line early; the time went by slow
Eleven o'clock came; they opened up the gate
I made it to the front; it was well worth the wait

The day was very hot; sweat rolling down our backs
But that didn't matter because of where we were at
Sugarland performed first; they were good I must confess
Aaron Tippin was next; I thought he was the best

Then things took a turn; I don't mean for the best
Colin Raye was scheduled next; my wife she felt so blessed
She wanted many pictures; he's the reason why she came
But that was not to happen; here I will try to explain

I had to stand in line; I was scheduled to meet Ms Rimes
I thought it would be quick; I should have seen the sign
Then before I knew it; Colin took the stage
He started his singing; I was led behind the stage

The moment I've waited for, finally came to be
Got to meet Ms LeAnn Rimes; was she a sight to see
I got to stand right next to her; my arm around her waist
Had my picture taken with her; her beauty I was graced

Then I came back down to earth; realized I'd better hurry
Needed to get back to my wife; I couldn't help but worry
I ran as fast as I could; the crowd was packed together
Took more time than I had planned; I had to get those pictures

I finally reached my wife; noticed she wasn't happy
Reached down to get my camera; I looked up, he was gone you see
I knew I was dead meat, by the look in my wife's eyes
I tried to explain to her; it was no use I realized

LeAnn finally took the stage; I was saved for the moment
All her songs were meant for me; you could tell it was evident
But I knew it wouldn't last; she could not sing forever
I knew that when she had to end; I'd face some stormy weather

I'm in the doghouse; I got the candy
She got the shaft
I'm in the doghouse; she got nothing
I got an autograph

I'm in the doghouse; I got a picture
She done got none
I'm in the doghouse; she holds my future
I guess I am done
