Poetry For Everyday People

Cheers

Gardens kiss my eyes
acts of kindness
flower words
from a stranger
little things
quick moments
no room for calculation
just pure,

the reasons we fall in
love with a person
weather for friendship
or companionship
is what we should
hold on to, that's
the magic, and time
has a way of letting us
take for granted
things like first looks,
first kisses, or the long
long road to finding love,

in romance
I plan on beating time,
humanity, weather, age, money,
and anything that threatens
loves freshness, the picnics,
walks in gardens, shows,
random hugs, kisses, laughter,
meeting of eyes with so
much between them,
museums, for art enriches love,
the element of surprise, time
planned for no other reason than
to celebrate finding each other,
we gotta feed love freshness,

can't lock it up and wonder
where it's been,

I've never taken laughs for granted
nor happy hours nor moments that were
so candid that we rose above the state
of living and found clues to understanding,
found that who we are as individuals and our
own journeys are specific maps to our identities,

Gardens kiss my eyes
acts of kindness
flower words
from a stranger
little things
quick moments
no room for calculation
just pure,

I shall savor the first kiss
all my life, the first taste,
the earned scars, the treasured
nights of wine and philosophy,
moments like this,
respect the journey, pass on
anything that may be of help.
