Poetry For Everyday People

You're Being Had

Little is left
when chance
is compromised,
when decisions
are made
based on exteriors,
people forget
the biggest criminals
the world has ever seen
have wore suits and ties,
uniforms, have been kings,
presidents,

so when you lock your car doors
as a black man walks past you
and leave your window down as
a white man in a suite walks past you,
think twice,

our current situation has sent us back
so far it's sad to see us in this state,
divided, hating, instead of loving and living,
instead of having each others backs,

religion is private, don't push it down
my throat, or knock on my door to tell me
about it, I got my own and I don't push it
on you, the current underground religious
movement is the scariest evil, it's lead
by liars, brain washing innocence and
taken advantage of ignorance,

sell yourself out if you need to but don't
bring me into this, you're being played like
a puppet, as you drive around with your bumper
stickers: SPEAK ENGLISH IT'S AMERICA, real classy,
I have a friend from Cuba who makes and sells these
kind of stickers to those brilliant people, might
as well take their ignorance to the bank,

you're getting funcked on so many levels
you have no clue, your driving a beat up
truck, you got no health insurance, you're
making no money, the price of your house is
going down yet your property taxes are going up?
if you have a house?  try getting a loan now?
yet you dance for them as they get richer,
as they look down on you, lie to you,

how much logic does it take for these people
to wake up?

and unite.
