Searching here and there for that
true friend,
that forever friend ---
That one friend who will accept
her
in spite of her shortcomings,
in spite of her idiosyncrasies,
in spite of those things that will
(otherwise) draw people away from her ---
She's formed many friendships
just to be let loose,
just to be turned away!
Maybe she's been looking for understanding
in the wrong places,
Conveniently forgetting that everyone else
is a stranger from home,
just like she is!
