-:¦:-:¦: Innocence -:¦:-:¦:
Innocence to the young is a vast wealth of gold
It's a wonderful gift from the Lord to behold
It's a sad loss when your innocence is gone
Disappeared as the night by the first rays of dawn
A time of sorrow
A time to weep
A time when our naiveness falls in a heap
Innocence is then put permanently to sleep
A blessed Uthopia too quickly grown stale
Memories remains when we all grow frail
Innocence dons a beautiful shroud, waiting on Time
Whenever Age is ready to ring out its chimes
A time of sorrow
A time to weep
A time when awareness drops in to stay
We can't avoid it in no other way
Sad but yet joyful for we become mature
An exciting step forward into the adult door
