I Tried to Make Things Work
I Tried to Make Things Work (A Woman Speaking)
I tried to make things work
I tried to be so strong
But you were such a jerk
And treated me so wrong
The games you used to play
And lies you used to tell
Have forced me on my way
I'm bidding you farewell
The chances that I took
Are things that I regret
So take your big black book
I'm taking the corvette
I thought I was your wife
But now I know the truth
You filled my life with strife
You've broken one last tooth
I know it will be rough
I know I'll need to fight
But I know that I'm tough
I know that I am right
So take one last good look
To something that you had
I was more than just a cook
And you'll never be a dad
