I'm thankful for freedom
the red, white, and blue
In remembrance of those
lost in wars too.
great courage it must have took
to be amidst a war,
I can't even imagine what
it would be like to explore
the dangers that lurk beyond
enough to be aware,
the pain and sorrow of
a loss we all tend to share.
As I look out at the flags
of America the great,
I also have to think
what is this country's fate?
Why do we have to send some out
to fight an ugly war?
I know it may be something
that we just cannot ignore.
It is sad that we have to
send some out to risk their lives,
I know they choose to do it
it shows bravery as they strive
to do it for their country
proud as they can be,
They are the Americans who fight
for freedom constantly.
