When my adult world gets too much to handle,
and everything starts to unwind,
I could search the four corners of the world
and never find the perfect friend.
When my smile takes too much effort and
my heart is just not in it,
When nothing I say is making any sense
and people just don't get it.
I disappear from the world into my
simple home,
Leaving the world outside for
others to roam.
I wipe a smudge print off the counter,
and a crumb off your face,
Your big bright eyes makes me so glad
I'm in this place.
A hug from you is worth more than
anything,
Just to hear your sweet voice
as you try to sing.
I like the way you look at life,
Cookie crumbs and a chocolate face,
You make coming home so good I'm
so happy this is our space.
