I got a phone call
My phone rang
"Nobody" was there
I answered "Hello" but where,
Where did he go?
I listened for a minute
for somebody to speak
but "Nobody" did
and that was unique
it was odd, it was strange
I didn't know what to do
maybe he spoke another language?
Again, I said "Hello!"
"Who are you?"
still it was "Nobody"
What happened to the fellow?
I didn't make the call
he called me,
I was standing in the hall
I waited on the phone to see,
maybe it was the wrong number?
feeling dumber
again I said, "Hello!"
"Who's there?"
"Nobody" replied,
I was shocked and unaware
really confused
and I felt used, (I sighed)
I had answered the phone
to see who it was
but it was "Nobody"
I finally hung up the phone.
I wish that I'd known
It was my long lost friend,
you know from childhood
and "Nobody" it was,
"Mr. Nobody"
