A Rainy Day At School
The day dragged on
so slow and long,
no space to think-
no time to breathe.
The walls enclosed,
condensing sound,
against the splash
of constant rain.
I filled the time
with work and games,
and found my head begin
to pound.
The clock ticked on,
the pencils rolled,
the blocks all
clattered on the desk.
The echo hit
against the walls
and bounced right back
and spun me out.
Joy Weare.
