CANDY'S FOR CANADA

As though a voice I hear from Canada
He speaks in my mind
Where I can hear good enough
To talk back in writing
And I just wanted him to know
Neil Young came from Canada
And his damage isn't done yet
Old and still rockin'
Both of us playing the HARVEST album
Songs as I remember how
I knew them perfectly on
Guitar and piano at 20
That's when I would practice everyday
And life was a long song
From him and Crosby, Stills, and Nash
Mostly where I would carry on
With that 20-year-old-power
Twitching in my muscles
Almost invincible.

Jim Carey came from Canada too
In LIAR, LIAR it's so funny he's
A lawyer who cannot lie one
Day as we all know the
World is mostly lies and you
Have to separate the meat from the
Bone to get a good taste of the truth
That's why I love you Shadowfiend
You speak your eccentric truths out
Loud on paper as I do
And like Jim Carey your poetry
Has a face that is expressive to
Say the least and
Magnificent to say the most.

Thinking of you, Troyboi, and
Wanted you to know not
Everything about Canada sucks
Even if Atlantis won't give you a date
I know you've got a
Bottle in the bottom drawer like me
So perhaps, it will all come
Together for the world if we close our
Eyes and drink in the
Life from that bottle of
Spirits that perhaps only
A poet can fathom here
In O'Canada
Or the good ole USA

At least, we are on the same
Piece of land my
Poet friend and
That is good for me---
You, then Neil, then Atlantis, then Mr. Carey
Your O'Canada is special to me
Because you're there, Troypoetman.
