**:** That Special Day **:**
Oft I remember that autumn day
When Cupid's arrow found its way
Sinking deep within my breast
While he stopped nearby in rest
To witness the after effects
Just in the ways he did expect
Its entry caused exquisite pain
Such as I never felt again
I tried to save my ruptured heart
My fingers plucked out the dart
But too late the deed was done
I heard him laugh in wicked fun
I fell at once upon my knees
My blood rose up in high degrees
A feeling strange overpowered me
All my emotions were set free
One by one they stirred my soul
For once in my life I felt whole
Up and down my emotions soared
Like the scales in a musical score
These intimate feelings were strange
I never knew love could reach such range
Exposed I was at the age of nineteen
This was something I had never foreseen
I question my mother on the facts of love
With gentle reassurance she made light of
The startling events when love awakes
Within an innocent girl there's no mistake
Like a rose's petals unfolding wide
To the sun's warm fingers exposing inside
Love is that tender touch of thrill
Which comes to a young girl at its will
