Now I know this is a little bit late;
In fact, it's 17 months overdue!
Oh shame on me for letting it slip!
So I thought I'd better write to you!
Now this is all about a thank you! A
nd to praise you for your tact!
Due to the fact, that I was, of course;
In a fearful mess, that's a fact!!
And though I am petrified of anesthetics!
You treated me with care!
And hid the needle so offended! In fact,
I didn't even see it there!!
You kept me calm amidst my storm of emotions;
Held deep in my mind!
And tried to occupy my head!
Because I was in a panic so blind!
And of course it worked!
Cos we chatted of this that and the other!
And I gabbed on about my books!
Oh blimey, I needed my mother!!!
So I told you lot I'm a poet!
Published far and wide; tis true!
Cos my name's all over the world!
I'm famous and so are you!
Well, ok, so I exaggerate a little!
About the famous part that is!
But the world wide publishing, that's true!
Cos I know how to do the biz!
So my face is in every book store!
And the libraries don't ya know!
And if you don't believe me!!
Then I reckon you should go!
And then you'll see I'm not kidding!
Cos tis only the truth I tell!
And if I decide to publish another!
You lot are going in that as well!!
And I told you I'd make you famous!
But no doubt you've forgotten me!
But I didn't forget the lot of you!
Cos you made an impression on me!
What can I say, it being so late!
But belated is better than nothing at all!
And if I ever need another operation;
Tis you lot I'll be giving a call!!!
Meanwhile you're read about on my website;
On the world wide net!
Well, if you're good to me, what can I say?
Fame is what you'll get!!
