Unseen By Eyes, But Not By Mine
Their innocence surfaced today
Yet seen by few will melt away
Into a pool of yesterdays
Breaking my heart again I'd say
Grandaughters mine, sometimes others
Part time it seems, memories smothered
Moments one has, but not to spend
Choices one's own, but none to lend
Their laughs I take and run with them
Small tears we wipe and comprehend
Each time they speak listen I do
Yet others fail, so much they lose
Father absent, par for the course
Time not spent and no remorse
He who claims daughters of mine
Unfazed failure, should be his line
Watching we see these acts unfold
Before our eyes though I've grown old
We see what others fail to see
Pure innocence in them it flees
Unseen by eyes but not by mine
I pray one day they'll make the time
For GOD has seen what they have not
Precious my gems many forgot
Unseen by eyes but not by mine
