sleep-merchant
dragged and drugged
by pastime of endless wants
in the midst of the market place he lies
revealing nothing but the calm of his
sleep.
buzzing flies and mosquitoes, their flight
and bite lures nothing of his
sleep.
bustle and hustle, pepperish iratev dust
sneezes others but stings nothing of his
sleep.
immuned to all bawl and hurricane...
sleep-merchant
drugged and drunk
craddled by pain and tiredness
he sleeps to live
and lives to sleep
when will he wake?
NOTES
The poem tries to cite and express the most common flight of common man
most especially in African countries where poverty, ignorance and corrupt leaders prevail.
