 Don't
Don't ask me how I feel today
I'm choking on my tears
I don't want to talk about this pain
I want to stay right here

Don't tell me it will be okay
Or that I'm doing my best
Don't give me a shoulder to cry on
Because I made my own bed
So let me rest

Don't look at me with inquiring eyes
Or try to take me out of this
I'm content right here
Writing in my darkness

Don't tell me you've been there
Don't run your fingers through my hair
Don't kiss me on the cheek
Don't tell me you care

You wouldn't understand
Because I can't make sense of it either
This only happens in movies, dreams…
And nightmares

I'm there…
Just leave me with my vacant stare
