One and Only Guide

Gliding by purple pastures appreciating the
pain my fore-fathers endured picking cotton
passing bye the killing fields where dreams were
thought up while oak trees were strung up;
witnessing fresh tears in the deepness of my sleep
watching mothers shed sorrowful drops from swollen eyes
screaming and praying Lord why? Asking for the
strength, the power to stop her sons untimely ascent;
but soldiers and warriors are necessary to battle
the evils battalion; when I'm alone in my zone
my mind begins to nomadically roam to a happy
place where all my loved ones spirits show up and show out,
feeling their strength flowing through
my flesh and bones guiding my earthly steps
walking without the threat of stress, keeping my
head up cause I know I'm blessed; traveling
around the globe discovering new ozone's a place
where melanin less folk can go without the threat
of dying from too much swet; sliding by
feeling high cause inside G.O.D is my one and only guide
