A Wonderful Day At School
It wasn't too cold
and it wasn't too hot-
without interruption-
they finished the lot.
No one was too fast-
no one was too slow-
without silly fuss-
they kept their heads low.
Just enough smiling
and just enough words-
all busy working
page turning heard.
Writing and reading-
spelling and sums-
tables and playing-
jokes on the run.
Wonderful working-
manners polite-
this day at school
was quite a delight.
Joy Weare.
