Magic Of The Mountains

If we drink in Gods beauty
when we  are young
when we are old
our mind may forget
but our heart will remember

The beautiful mountains of North Carolina
has music all its own that pull the heart strings
and magic that delight the soul.
~ ~ ~
when one walks in the cool shade on a carpet of moss
under tall trees the walnut  maple and giant oaks
its quite is so peaceful it stirs the imagination.
~ ~ ~
There is a lovely feeling of something just out of reach
something as old as time yet to be discovered
yet holds its secrets close  but forever shares it magic.
~ ~ ~
It has sheltered generation into generation in its folds
it carry's the scars of a war  that tore its family's apart
that put neighbor against neighbor brother against brother.
~ ~ ~
The hill tops and deep valleys and green coves
have taken its people of long ago forever unto its self
their spirit roams free in the places they lived and loved
In the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
