Wish The World Was Smiling
Wish the world was smiling
and people all joined hands-
away from bombs and bias
and clashing cruel beliefs.
Wish the world was happy
and filled with open hearts-
without a touch of rigid,
religious righteousness.
Wish the world was singing
and filled with melody-
away from soldiers shooting
all those who disagree.
Wish the world was sharing,
exchanging, taking turns-
not grabbing, snatching, holding
and keeping all the best.
Wish the world was laughing-
great big belly laughs-
instead of all the crying
in the shadows of the night.
Joy Weare.
