My Heart
My Heart
My heart, my love
how easy it is
to let the days get to busy
and our souls so far apart
so I write you this poem
to remind you just in case
no matter the miles apart
you are the light in my dark
My heart, my dear
the one I hold so closely near
don't know what I would do
if one day I would wake up
and not find you here
so these simple words
it's like the phrase "I love you"
when it was first heard
My heart, my partner
the one, the spark
oh I couldn't have done this
without your hand to hold
I smile and think of today...
tomorrow...even when we are old
the best is yet to come
I can feel it in my bones.....
