Mercy Seat

Mercy Seat

Take me to my mercy seat
a place of solitude and retreat
call me guilty, call me innocent
just don't ever forget
I am human....
God will always, always
have His eyes on me
so these chains you impose
are just that....in mind I am free

You can take away my food
enclose me in a gas chamber
a beating from a stranger
but I know my Lord is here
just like He was in that manger
so go ahead....I am not afraid of death
because you point the sword to me
you are letting someone else rest
the mercy seat is waiting......

so the twisting of all the truths
are gone and buried
and in Heaven I am the one standing
the seat God supplied
the faith I am so glad I never did deny
and I can walk without fear
knowing I will be here for all time.....
