Scented Butterflies
Reaching out...
and embracing the night,
insisting that I'd not give up,
but persevere and seek the light
"How would I know? for if I'd be
bounded by the chains of your mind...
love's bonding, letting go, then reconcile
How then, how could I say goodbye?"
Memories swirl in a pool
of love lost haste, moving
way too slow...
wishing them away.
Clogging well worn pathways
exhausting known escapes,
want to embrace feelings
lost along the way.
Years reverse to minutes
clocks will never stop,
smothered in my pillow
each night, tears of sorrow.
Forgive you for the grief
a gift you gave my heart,
I hope to soon forget
love that's torn apart.
Butterflies are falling
but still flying in the mist
carrying on its wings...
thoughtlets, memories and tears
Etched in my soul
pain continues to grow,
Yet, spring gave birth today
filled with the scents of you...
I am forever still...
In love with thee
And even if darkness calls
I will not answer its ring.
Dreams fly...
will soar the sky high...
like scented butterflies
Now flying slow...
just to scatter perfume in the air
Tattooed on their wings
are pieces of you...
The very image of the first time
I saw you...
