I can hear your life
And your travels
You are such a unique
Expression of the Divine.
Sing your voice, singer
Make your music,
In rhythm and rhyme
Move your fingers
Tap your feet
And the melody
Of your life
Flows from your life
And becomes mine.
Talk to me lover
Tell me of the tales
Of other cities
And people and lives
And I see my city
Through your eyes
Better than some
Worse than others
Your vision is added
To mine.
I didn't know we had
A voice, and a style
Or flavor, until
Dear traveler,
I saw my city through
You.
A passer by…
Beloveds,
Poets, singers, musicians,
Friends, and lovers
And strangers all
The world became new
When I saw the world
Through your eyes
Through your poems
Through your style
A little piece of you
Now lives in me
