Empty Nest
* I wrote this for a lady at my church, her son is going off to college*
Empty Nest
Go ahead my heart will break
but it's all for the best
you have your wings now
you were meant to fly
don't look back my child
you will see me cry
but I will be fine
I promise....go get those dreams
they are all within reach
just waiting......
I will take out old pictures
rub my finger over that baby face
and I will look at old report cards
and still shake my head at those grades
but I will smile, once the tears have dried
it's empty nest....
not goodbye
I want to tell you how proud I am
with pride I beam
from proms to even the little league teams
you was my star
and always forever you are
so don't hesitate.....go be great
and I will be your biggest cheerleader
God ever made.....
