My Streets
Whose there for You?
No Longer their Fool!
Just an Existence in my Mind?
A feather in the Storm

The Old Willow Tree
The Old Willow Tree
The tree stands stately
even though it is old
and how many stories
over time could be told?
Of times when the world
lived in much darker times
when it's broad branches sheltered
people of all kinds.
Those who were rich and
those who were poor
those who were broken
blistered and torn.
Some just felt serene
under it's branches of green
enjoying many hours
as they laid back to dream.
Couples in love
saught privacy in your midst
your arching branches
hiding them as they shared a kiss.
Even a King saught
refuge within
your thick tree stump
so he'd never be seen.
Live on old tree
for many more years
so your branches of willow
see more laughter and tears
Just like a book
how many stories did you see?
many secrets do you hold
the ever stately old tree.
