 A special night

A Special Night

I came from the darkness
No light could be found
I had lost hope and
My despair was profound
As I walked in the rain
The rain mixed with my tears
I was chilled to the bone
As my mind filled with fear
As the rain ceased
I looked to the skies
Many starts shone brilliantly
So many way up high
They held my attention
Such beauty and so rare
Within the starlight I
Lost my despair.
I suddenly saw the wonder
I was transfixed by it all
The grandeur and the glory
Of the Universe so tall
My fear they became nothing
As I saw how futile they were
As the darkness lifted
I become more sure
Sure that our lord
Looks down from above
He always is watching
Sending his love
How can despair stay?
In this divine light
As I stared at the heavens
In the wonder of night
