Stop
I don`t have to tell you son
Live each moment, every one
You have touched the golden gate
Are aware of what is fate.
Now you`re thirty-six years old
And if all the truth were told
Every year has brought its pleasure
Lots of moments you will treasure
Yes, bad times, there`s been a few
But you`ve always seen them through
Know that life sometimes brings pain
So you just begin again.
I remember babe blue eyes
Bluer than the bluest skies
Chubby hands and dimpled knees
Always trying hard to please
Yes, sometimes you broke the rules
As you traveled through life's` schools
Broke my heart then healed my pain
As you tried to start again
Now a man who hides his fears
Won`t admit regretful tears
Takes what life gives on the chin
Never, never does give in
Have a happy day today
Spend a little time in play
Stop just once to look around
At all the glory's that abound
The soaring of a bird in flight
The beauty of the stars at night
The oak tree reaching to the sky
The whisper of a butterfly
This comes with lots of love my son
From your ever loving Mum.
