Though death may enter the doorway
A surrounding black cape
Heavy and curtained
Sombre in mood
Coaxes me to its midst
Yet in that ominous darkness
I catch sight of a light
At first gently flickering like a candle
Then growing
Its brightness illuminating my eyes
Transfixing me to its core
Drawing me inside
Like a spider to the web
There is no fear
Now I smile
And advance towards it
Silent in my step
And graceful
