A withering darkness creeps over the horizon
Silhouetted trees blend and then disappear
Clouds look on in a demonic fashion
The core of a storm congregates overhead
With humidity increasing intensely
Warming the caress of a fervent lover
Encased in shadows hiding from view then
Sharpened bolts flew through the night
Thunder roared and raged like a lion
Fingers of lightning pointed javelins of flame
The sticky air bristled with expectancy
