I did you know, I tried to think,
All about what to say,
Then I decided to let the prolific-ness flow,
Just as I do each day!
So anyway, listen up dear Corin,
I have these words to say to you!
And you better read them well,
Cos my positive's coming through!
Before anyone can love us,
We first have to love our self!
Cos otherwise, I must admit,
We'd be on a dusty shelf!
Now personally I don't want that,
A horrid, boring, dismal life!
Cos I only have the one, its precious to me,
And I wanted to be a wife!
I guess that I got lucky,
Because you see, with all my health,
I really have to admit to it,
I thought I was surely on that shelf!
Now I know you know my health krap –
Now tell me what you think?
Well let's be honest here Corin,
It does pretty much - really stink!
Now this is where I get hard-faced,
And kick you into touch!
Cos all this denial of your epilepsy!!!
Is much too bloody much!
Cos no matter how you dress it up,
It's there inside your head!
So you gloss it over with the ‘accident'
And use that tact instead!
I'm pretty much up front and honest,
As I think you have guessed!
Well you will by the time I'm finished,
So you better read the rest!
Now I know where you're coming from,
Cos I went down that path!
But no matter what's been thrown at me,
I always, always laugh!
You see, I am a lover of life,
And I only have one shot!
So every morning I see is a blessing,
And what a blessing I've got!
You see, when I wake up every morning-
Riddled with my awful pain!
I thank God high up above,
For letting me wake to another day again!
And the other pain I get inside my head,
Blimey, what a tornado!
But I have to add, its all ok,
Cos I know they wont ever go!
The trick is to accept life as it is,
And smile every single day!
If you do that, then I say it now,
You will always be ok!
Now life was never promised to be –
A bed of roses that's true!
But the bed we make in this,
Life's game, is only down to you!
You can't hide in the past like you are,
And live there every day!
Cos you have a life, and no matter what it's like,
You are still ok!
You wake up every morning don't you?
And open your eyes to the world!
Well open them wider, so you can see,
Everything that's unfurled!
And thank God for your life,
And for your hearing and your sight!
Cos many people out there are deaf,
And some live in the dark of night!
When you see a child with epilepsy,
Wearing a protective cage on their head,
I hope that you feel guilty lad!
And be thankful you're not dead!
Cos though you feel your life may be krap,
And very hard to bear,
There are always people who are worse –
Than you or me out there!!!
So I think its time to take stock of yourself!
And be thankful for your own life!
Cos only then will you ever know peace,
And leave behind the strife!
And when you are happy within,
You will meet the woman of your dream!
Cos only you can make that happen,
Go on, try it, see what I mean!
Happiness is only what we make it;
So make your life happy today!
Turn the negatives into positives;
And self-love will come your way!
