They served country who serves but not them
Raw deal they were given, cannot comprehend
How could the U S, treat soldiers this way
Hero's of a war, attention not payed
They named it and sprayed it, Agent Orange back then
Double agent unknown it too they would send
Destroying foilage, in Nam's deadly jungle
Deployed on our troops, a mission so bungled
Soldiers of misfortune, more like a great fortune
Would pay with hight cost, bodies now torturing
Orange has claimed what use to be theirs
Life short but not sweet no one would be spared
Twelve hundred dollars would them compensate
The year 84, too little, too late
As many would fall, thousands would too die
Children left orphan, parents in graves lie
Betrayed by their Government, denying one's due
Veterans of this war, forced them to then sue
Yet still till today, a blind eye has been turned
By V A this monster, watching innocence burn
A note to the Government, of the great USA
Be mindful not heartless of those who have payed
Great cost is just chump change compared how you spend
The Billions on projects that started this trend
A Poem dedicated to Terry Sasek, Once A Warrior
One of the many thousands who served His country
in Vietnam. Today he fights his government just to
stay alive.
