SO   MUCH   TO   BE   GRATEFUL   FOR

Yes,
So much to be grateful for in our lives and
Yet we take simple things for granted.
I know,
What a sad cliché:
How utterly trite!

Floating along in a self-obsessed bubble
Rarely do we see the blueness of sky
Smell the sweetness of rain
Hear innocence in a child's giggle.

Superficial minutiae of life is a burden to be tussled with
Weep for triviality.

Do we really understand pain?
Have we ever felt the deepest anguish,
Heart rending enough for us to contemplate
An ending?

And yet our burdensome trivia,
Our pathetic cries for help,
Might be a truly courageous persons wanting.

How dare we?
