THANK YOU
A trillion thank you's
Could never repay the debt I owe.
You provided a resting place in your heart
When I was alone and frightened.
War raged inside my mind
Yet you held me together
And showed your warmth.
You lent a shoulder for me to lean
When times were unbearable,
A gentle touch
To wipe the worries from my brow.
And now you are gone.
Opportunities to tell you what you meant to me
Have run through my fingers like the sands of time.
If you read this
If you should ever recall our time
Then know that you rescued me,
Saved me from myself,
And I shall whisper "thank you".
