Empty Wonder Into White
Soft the sky lights winter land
frozen tundra vast the span
of shimmer ice and milky white
expanse all emptying into night
Stars that twinkle and light the ground
reflect like pools all soft and round
Muted light that ends the day
long the shadows where objects lay
Moon glow bright invite to you
shadowed landscape within view
of twinkling flakes that flutter down
that cover every inch of ground
Dance in time to windy gust
faster and faster fall they must
'til you don't see the dark of night
