Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

I messed with mother earth

I treasured my escape
And then I told you dirty lies.
I couldn't find the mirror
Just to check out my disguise.
I'm sitting at the table
And I know that I'm alone.
I think of pulling back this skin,
Exposing ugly bone.
I walked right off the beaten path,
I wandered into water.
I brought with me some clever flaws
So foolish how they falter.
I cling to earth, I cannot breathe,
This mother has me fooled.
She seemed like such a gentle beast
But now she has me schooled.
With soulful whispers in my ear
She teaches me a lesson.
And then she reaches back her claws.
She always keeps me guessing.
I reach to her when I can't see,
She always runs away.
I'm left here singing silent songs
When mother earth can't play.
