Goodbye My Bestest Friend
To my lovely dog Gilly who went to sleep on 26/9/07 at 12.33pm at the age of 16
years and 5 months love you forever
xxx
At last my baby it`s goodbye
You fought so hard, tried not to die
I did not want to let you go
But in the end we had to know
It was time, the hour had come
When you could no longer run
My last gift was dignity
You deserved to be set free
I remember that first day
When you came with us to stay
Big brown eyes so bright and clear
Bringing joy with every year
Wagging tail and stamping feet
You would never take defeat
Oh my bairn, my Gillyflower
I will miss you every hour
I know that it`s not the end
We will meet again my friend
You will look from high above
Warming me with your sweet love
I am so glad you chose me then
I would live it all again
Yes I was so very lucky
You chose me when still a puppy
I`ll remember throughout time
God was good, He made you mine
