Love Has No Competition
Love Has No Competition
Why is that
my punishment is
when I do good things
it's like it don't count
what I am offering
and I never thought
you would say what you did
but I guess I never knew you after all
never knew the worth
of love that has such a high cost
and love has no competition
so what is this?
Belongs in what box?
Your face I will miss
You I have lost......
I'm pissed off
upset...needing to be indifferent
but reaching only frustrating
and I would have done anything
been right here waiting
but you have turned away
little broken piece of my heart
I try to collect and save
glue isn't working
neither is a band aid
and I get that you are afraid
but I thought I was more than....
Just a throw away
I am your family for God's sake
and love has no competition
so what is this?

and if you ever change your mind
I wouldn't hesitate
to hug your neck
give you a warm embrace
but I don't think that will be happening
so I walk on.....
But the ache....it stays.....
