Darkness spread out before me
Endless hours in sleeps black cocoon
Wrapped in a claustrophobic blanket
That nestles around my shoulders
And pulls me tight
Yet this will be another sleepless night
Where demons stare surreal
And rest eludes my aches and woes
For I am to be punished
As life turns its back on me
Till I mend my ways
