 The Dirty Dozen

Gathered to share upon that night
Their inner self, souls would shed light
Inside a room lead by a man
Ordained by GOD, to teach the damned

I gazed amazed upon each one
Hunger their plight each one GODS son
Some young, some old but all in need
Of truth and faith, salvations seed

Once dirty with sinful hearts
Plagued by the world that tore apart
Their ties and lives with lies once theirs
Their souls reborn now CHRIST they bare

Their walk, a crawl just like my pace
Would read clearly upon their face
Scripture they'd read to help define
These works in progress, these souls once blind

Once dirty but now washed clean
By blood not theirs, by one not seen
Yet still in awe, they seek with faith
Their only chance to change their fate

Brothers whose arms would soon enfold
Welcome one lost into GODS fold
Tears would fall upon the ROCK
That would not shift this blessed flock

Prayers would call out to the one
To bring new life to us undone
To lift burdens the eyes don't see
By hands that bled for them and me

The Dirty Dozen, this name given
To honor men in CHRIST forgiven

Dedicated to Pastor Lou's Dirty Dozen
