SUNSHINE IN MY HEART 
The sun shines warmly now, and deep inside my heart The glowing intensity of heat trickles further to my soul Where once lived loneliness and despair You, my dear, have planted a seed insidiously within me and With all your wisdom, you have turned a bleak and barren spot Into a heart which brims full of joy and gaiety and a Once lame and lethargic step is now a skip of happiness My dull eyes are seeing life in a new and brilliant light Bringing out their blueness, wide in anticipation of a new world They are taking in this fresh reality And I am grasping the experience with both hands A soft blanket holds me with a new purpose in life as My listlessness has been transformed to a passion I have rarely felt As dawn breaks and before the earliest of birds I lift my head from downy pillow and wipe away the remnants of sleep The wonder of nature peers in at me through my open window A gentle breeze transports the exquisite fragrance of wisteria That lazily creeps the creamy stone wall outside Bunches of delectable flower heads that eventually reach my sill Inviting a host of bees to their centres, in their quest to consume the sweetness I am in awe of the beauty on display, my senses are dizzy because You, in your faultless manner, have guided me to this new plateau And I wish to thank you sincerely my darling I will pursue this path excitedly and without trepidation Wherever I journey in this magical world of ours, I will always come home to you………… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
