Fear Stands AloneI peek outside with utmost fear as I know the time is near. Time to go out and take a stand time to talk and shake a hand. Initiate a friendship, words I should say if only my fear didn't get in the way. Unlock and push my way through fears door don't go in the closet and sit on the floor. Say what comes to mind, though it's not easy my stomach is beginning to feel a bit queasy. "I may say something wrong" I worry as I go along. "What if I make a fool of myself?" maybe I should read some books on the shelf. Books that teach one, how to... in talking I go outside but I just keep walking. I didn't stop and take the time I just kept walking and thinking of rhyme. I didn't shake a hand or greet a friend I was just too nervous in the end. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
