UNREQUITED LOVE

~*~UNREQUITED LOVE~*~

When Irene was young and fancy-free
There was a boy she just loved to see,
She`d go to any lengths to see him
She`d travel far and risk life and limb.

She could not tell him just how she felt
But one look from him and she would melt,
She was so besotted it was a shame
If only he`d have felt the same.

She could not breathe when she looked at him
Her legs grew weak and her eyes went dim,
Her knees buckled and her head would reel
No breath in her body could she feel.

A tale of unrequited love is sad
And many moments of regret she`s had,
But had they married she would have cried
She`d have been alone now because he died.
