On mudded battlefields in foreign lands
They held the line that we might live
Young and fearless gallant bands
Their greatest gift to us did give
They're all they gave that we might know
A world where tyranny has no part
Though their lives were given long ago
Their sacrifice is fresh within our hearts
Vivid the memories when skies are grey
Conveying to our heart deep pangs of sorrow
For us they did gladly forfeit all their today's
That we might see a new tomorrow
