 SHIPSHAPE

I've battened down all my hatches
Now I'm feeling very cosy
Sat here writing in the fireglow
Is making me somewhat dozy

There's a lively swell to the water outside
The boat leans this way and that
Though inside it's as snug as a bug
And on the whole, quite flat

The pull on the ropes can be very eerie
As they creak loudly as the weight tugs against
Pushing out from the mooring and back
Makes one feel secure in a sense

A black blanket drapes over in the evening
And a tranquil atmosphere does enclose
Come bed-time and the cradle rocks
And my hopeful dreams are fully exposed
