DANCING FLAMES"Inspired" sigs DANCING FLAMES Dancing flames of fire bright Welcomes warmly my icy feet Outside the world is turning white In wintry showers of snow and sleet Listening to the north wind blow Howling at the window pane Watching drifting flakes of snow Cover vacant fields beside the lane I bathed in glow of joyful heat Greedy flames devouring coals In cosiness of armchair seat Mused of eternal flames burning souls Coal shaped figures did appear In front of drooping sleepy eyes And in fancy I could hear Gnashing teeth and bitter cries Escape the flames; my imagined cry My eyes transfixed to fiery glow Come to Jesus with sins scarlet dye And be washed whiter than the snow At fireside a lesson learned Of drifting snow and licking flame Then closed my eyes as fire burned As sleep crept in and overcame Colin Moffett Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
