As religiously as the tolling of church bells
We face a yearly tribulation by which our nerves
Are grinded thru a mill and stretched beyond any
Resemblance of normality

Our moans and groans become lost in the wind
We remain unwilling participants!
We're caught up in the swaying dance
Of a crazed Cyclope's one eyed advance

Flirtatiously it dips and pivots before many courtiers
And all along its unsteady path.......
We pray!...... Oh! how we pray!
Like devoted clergies, we pray!
To still the fear in our hearts
Its purpose......
To stir the merciful heart of the Most High Power
Until the Season has spent itself and we begin once more
To dread the threats of yet another year
Weary and ravaged......... we pray!

The Hurricane season begins Sept. through Nov. every year.
My country of Belize, Central America, has weathered many Hurricanes,
as it lies exposed by its location in the Caribbean Sea.
