The evening was full of couples in love
Out strolling with fingers gently entwined
Coming to rest at a pavement café
Where the atmosphere was smoothly refined
A bow-tied pianist sat in the corner
Tapping out melodies and melting the hearts
Adoring glances and eyes that were making love
Nothing on earth could pull them apart
Sipping coffee and brandy and whispering
Words of romance with note of a violin
Watching them as their knees collide
He leant and kissed her on a mere whim
She stroked his face and nuzzled nearer
Then brushed together as they disappeared
Dancing down the path under midnight stars
Love's poetic music was heavenly to hear
